Membership opens for National Food Safety and Quality Board

The Health Ministry has opened applications for membership at the National Food Safety and Quality Board.

According to an announcement posted by the ministry on Monday, applications are now open for members to the newly enacted national board.

The term of a board member is five years.

According to the announcement, the main responsibilities of board members are to advise and provide technical support to the Health Ministry to ascertain the safety, quality and nutritional value of food products, and to advise the ministry on challenges in enforcing the law.

The ministry said that candidates who have any vested interest in a food and beverage business will be disqualified.

Interested candidates have been asked to submit their applications and other relevant documents to the Health Ministry via email to [email protected] by 01:00 pm on October 10.
