Sept 6 marks highest number of young Imams leading Friday prayers

The Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that the highest number of yount Imams leading Friday congregrational prayers was observed on September 6, 2024.

Dr. Shaheem confirmed this on X, notifying that the young Imams who lead the Friday prayers have had recently completed the 'Youth Khateeb (Imam) Program'.

Young Imams lead Friday prayers at a total of 12 mosques in Greater Male' area, which include:

Masjidul Mohammad
Masjidul Ameel Jaleel
Masjidul Usman
Masjiduh Salaam
Masjidul Hassan Adam
Masjidul Asdeeqa
Masjiduh Sultan Hassan Izzuddin
Masjid Iskandar
Masjid Jalaluddin
Masjid Furqan
Masajiduh-Sultan Mohamed bin Abdulla
Masjiduh-Nooru

A total of 209 individuals completed the second batch of the Khateeb Program led by the Islamic Ministry. More than 300 individuals have completed the program so far.

The ministry launched the program aimed at students in Grades 10, 11, and 12 and for young alumni.
