Deadly collision in Hulhumale' results in death

A deadly collision in Hulhumale' on Friday early hours has resulted in the demise of one.

Maldives Police Service on Friday confirmed to media that a motorbike and car were involved in a crash, which was reported around 2:48hrs on Friday early hours.

The biker, a 23-year-old local man, passed away at Hulhumale' Hospital amid treatment, police confirmed.

The law enforcement also confirmed they arrested the 26-year-old car driver, and added they are investigating the case.

Police revealed the driver's identity: Mohamed Wisham Sidhqee, 26, Addu City Hithahdoo

Police has revealed the identity of the driver, identified as Mohamed Wisham Sidhqee, from Addu City Hithadhoo.

This is the second serious accident reported this week, with one reported on Wednesday evening.

Authorities reported that the injured youth, aged 21 years, in the Wednesday crash was in serious condition, receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital's (IGMH) Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
