Three offices, including Inner Maldives, in Male’ robbed

A series of robberies took place in Maldives capital Male’ City, with breaking and entering into three offices including Inner Maldives.

Robberies occurred around midnight on Friday, prompting reports to the Maldives Police Service, which confirmed the incidents to the local on Friday morning. Authorities also stated that all the affected outlets are located on Ameer Ahmed Magu, Henveiru.

Police confirmed to ‘Sun’ Online that the following offices had been broken in:

• Inner Maldives Island Choice
• Ace Travels
• Qatar Cargo

“We had some unexpected midnight visitors at our both offices,” said Mohamed Firaq, the owner of Inner Maldives, and added that though the robbers did not find “anything of importance” the damage to the door locks and properties held within the offices “is extensive.”

“Youth must start working ways to improve their lives through honest work… robbery is not a solution for you,” the businessman said.

Police confirmed they are now investigation the robberies.

The pictures Firaq shared in his social media post showed the damages, while several documents had been scattered across the offices.
