Bank of Maldives (BML) has dismissed its Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Aishath Noordeen from the bank's board of directors.
'Sun' Online has learned that Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) had sent the letter to Noordeen, informing her dismissal, last Thursday.
While she has been dismissed from the board, Noordeen has served at BML for 42 years.
Earlier in January, BML removed five of its directors but rescinded the decision and reinstated them. The directors were later removed at a shareholders' general meeting, which is a mandatory requirement since the bank is a public company.
