Three injured in collision between two motorbikes near bridge light

Two motorbikes collided in a dangerous accident near Sinamale’ Bridge’s traffic light on Friday.

The accident took place at approximately 5:26am this morning.

In a message to the media, Maldives Police Service said the dangerous collision between two motorbikes was reported to the authority this morning.

Three people injured in the accident are currently being treated at the hospital.

In this regard, Police detailed that the 21-year-old man who was driving one of the motorbikes and the 19-year-old girl who was sitting behind him were being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) while the 43-year-old man who was driving the motorbike was being treated at ADK Hospital.

The accident is under investigation by the Police.

Road accidents have seen a rise, especially in the greater Male’ area. In August, an out-of-control car crashed into a motorbike near Vinares Flats in Hulhumale' Phase II. The victim who was waiting on the motorbike on the side of the road was sent flying and crashing into the ground from the force of the impact.
