A woman has been arrested for theft from the account of an individual after robbing their cash card.

The incident took place last Wednesday.

In an earlier statement, the Police said the victim was dragged inside a home in Male’ City where the victim was stripped naked and threatened to give up their cash card and the PIN.

Two Maldivian men, aged 26 and 35 respectively, were arrested under a court in connection to the case on Saturday.

Police, on Sunday, announced the arrest of a 43-year-old woman they had searching for in connection to the case. They noted that the woman was remanded in custody pending the outcome of her trial upon presentation at the court.

Meanwhile, the two men who were arrested were remanded in custody for 30 days and 60 days respectively.

Another case was reported to the Police on Friday, where the phone of a pedestrian was snatched by two robbers on a motorbike.
