Media exhibition showcases Islamic Ministry’s latest works

Islamic Ministry has held a media exhibition bringing the latest updates on the Ministry’s undertakings to the public.

The media exhibition was launched by Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef during a special ceremony on Sunday that saw the attendance of Islamic Ministry officials including Minister Dr. Shaheem Ali Saeed and members of the parliament.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Minister Shaheem said the Ministry has already fulfilled many pledges included in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s manifesto. He also revealed that preparations were underway to commence work on additional pledges.

“You can learn a lot of information from this exhibition. We have invited honorable members of the parliament as they especially need to be aware of the works undertaken by a government office,” he said.

Minister Shaheem also said efforts were being undertaken to extend the exhibition until Monday.

The exhibition showcased statistics of the works carried out by the Ministry so far this year and the details of their current undertakings.

In this regard, it was detailed that 39 individuals newly converted to Islam in the past eight months. They include:

  • Eight from Philippines
  • Five from India
  • Four from Nepal
  • Three from Indonesia, Russia, Italy, Thailand and Sri Lanka each
  • Two from Vietnam and Germany each
  • One from Spain, Malaysia and Japan each

Other works highlighted in the exhibition include weekly rehabilitation programs at prisons, with 98 such programs conducted so far this year and religious lectures at mosques in both Male’ area and atolls.

Lectures specific for Bangladeshi nationals have been held in Male’ area.

The Ministry also now publicizes the Friday sermon in English and Bengali languages.
