Champa Brothers on Tuesday, has donated physiotherapy equipment to three islands - HA. Hoarafushi, Lh. Hinnavaru, and Lh. Kurendhoo.

A special ceremony was held at Champa Central to handover the equipment. Minister of Health Dr. Abdulla Khaleel graced the ceremony as its chief guest.

Champa Mohamed Moosa's daughter Sara Moosa handed the equipment to the respective council authorities of the islands.

While speaking at the ceremony, Minister Khaleel highlighted private sector's positive contribution to the health sector, which was evident during the Covid-19 pandemic when private sector contributions peaked.

"I am highlighting Tree Top Hospital among these, and if memory serves me right, I recall the hospital facilitating free services to locals for three months," Khaleel said.

He also emphasized President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's policy of strengthening primary healthcare in Maldives.

While noting the importance of physical exercises in primary healthcare, Khaleel said patients with long-term health issues must have access to treatment along with physiotherapy.

"The equipment gifted today will benefit the public of Hoarafushi, Kurendhoo and Hinnavaru, and not just for these islands but those neighboring them as well, who will no longer be required to make lengthy trips to seek physiotherapy treatment," Khaleel said.

The minister thanked Champa Brothers for their contribution.
