Expat worker dies after collapsing at Thilamale’ Bridge

A migrant worker died on Monday night, after collapsing as he was doing work on the Thilamale' Bridge project in the Maldivian capital.

In a brief press statement on Tuesday morning, the police said a migrant who was working at the bridge was taken to the Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumale’ on Monday night, after he got dizzy.

The hospital reports he was already deceased when brought in, said the police.

The police identified the deceased only as an Indian national, and did not disclose any further details regarding the circumstances of his death.

The mega infrastructure Thilamale' Bridge project will link Male’ City, Vilimale', Thilafushi and Gulhifalhu. 

Note: It was earlier reported that the deceased had been working at the Sinamale' Bridge in light of a mistake in the information provided by the Police regarding the incident. This mistake has now been amended.
