First Lady Sajidha Mohamed on Thursday, articulated that graduation is not a "mere certification but a validation of self-growth."

She made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) convocation ceremony for 2024.

Speaking at this ceremony, the First Lady stressed the importance of students pursuing avenues of collaboration and communication. She emphasized the value of perception and construction criticism as tools for instigating transformative changes. She also advocated promoting productivity and personal development also, as critical elements in the students' academic journey.

The First Lady reiterated her encouragement for students to embark on a lifelong journey towards self-development by honing their skills.

In her remarks, the First Lady stressed that IUM has been a historic institution that has brought transformative changes and progress to the Islamic community in the Maldives.

She also presented certificates to graduates at Thursday morning's convocation ceremony.
