Maldivian non-profit, International Aid Campaign (IAC), has begun supplying 12,000 liters of water daily to assist people in Gaza, which is grappling with an escalating humanitarian situation, amid continued heavy bombardment from Israeli forces.

In a post on Wednesday, IAC said it has been providing water to people in Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza Strip, since May 30.

In the post, IAC noted that Deir al-Balah is now crowded with a large number of Palestinians displaced from other areas of Gaza, some of whom have been displaced more than nine times.

The NGO noted that the area is suffering from a severe water shortage.

“The genocidal attacks on Gaza have left people struggling with famine. The conditions that a large part of the population is living in is indescribably catastrophic. We shall draw courage from the perseverance of the people of Gaza. In Sha Allah,” reads the statement.

The IAC called for additional donations to assist the people of Gaza.
