A boat, travelling with three people from K. Thilafushi to M. Medhufushi Island Resort, has been reported missing.
According to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), the cargo boat ‘AAA-37’ left Thilafushi at around 06:00 am Friday.
The MNDF confirmed there where three people onboard, but did not provide any further details regarding their identity.
It was reported missing to the Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) at around 05:20 pm, the same day.
A team has been deployed on the Coast Guard ship Shaheed Ali to search for the missing boat.
MNDF has asked for anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the boat to contact the Coast Guard at the toll-free number 191.
