Palestinian Culture Minister thanks Maldivians for the close ties maintained

Palestinian Minister of Culture Imad Abdulla Hamdan has extended gratitude to all Maldivians for the close ties maintained with Palestine.

The Maldivian Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage in a statement on Tuesday said the Minister Adam Naseer Ibrahim met with Palestinian Minister of Culture Imad Abdulla Hamdan during his ongoing visit to Azerbaijan.

Speaking during the meeting held at Azerbaijani capital Baku, Minister Hamdan expressed profound happiness for the opportunity to meet a representative from the Maldives.

Minister Adam Naseer congratulated Palestine, its citizens and the delegation attending the meeting following Friday’s United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)’s decision to grant new “rights and privileges” to Palestine and call on the Security Council to favorably reconsider its request to become the 194th member of the United Nations.

He described the longstanding ties Maldives has maintained with Palestine throughout the years as a sentiment shared by all Maldivians.

Minister Adam Naseer also affirmed that the relations between Maldives and Palestine will see no strain during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration, adding that the administration will cooperate in all efforts undertaken in the international arena to ensure Palestine’s independence.

As per the Ministry, Minister Adam Naseer’s ongoing visit to Baku is at the invitation of the Islamic World of Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s Director General.
