The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade on Monday, has announced the opportunity to submit expression of interest (EoI) for the development of an international arts school in the Maldives.
The ministry on Monday, put the announcement on the state gazette, noting the new academic institution would be established based on three key focuses.
The key focuses include development of creative professionals, facilitate training and professional development sessions, and integrated galleries and museums for the public.
The integrated galleries and museums aim to promote local artists and celebrate their works, as well as grant them professional networking and exposure as well.
A hostel accommodation is part of the art school plan, with the aim of enhancing cultural exchange and mutual cooperation among the students.
Planned courses under the institution include visual arts and crafts, audio visual and interactive media, and technology and design among other fields.
The ministry said it extended the EoI to acquire professional insight and expert opinion on the project from the private sector, while firms that do not express interest to execute the project will have the opportunity to submit their proposals.
All interested proponents may submit their proposals via email before June 30th, 2024.
