Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday said it has received 16 complaints related to the upcoming election for the 20th parliamentary assembly scheduled for next Sunday.
ACC's media official Hassan Manik confirmed the commission was investigating 14 of these complaints while two cases were not lodged.
The two cases dismissed include one that falls outside of ACC's mandate while another was not lodged owing to lack of sufficient information.
Hassan added the commission mainly received complaints related to campaigning and abuse of state assets previously.
"Difficult to specificy, but generally we have received cases related to misuse of state assets for campaigning and false pledging mainly," Hassan said.
Besides ACC, the Elections Commission (EC) earlier reported receiving multiple cases related to the upcoming election as well.
The commission said it received 41 election-related cases by last Sunday, with majority of these cases related to voting rights.
