He further described poetry as an extraordinary perception, adding they are words linked directly to the heart. He cited poetry as one of the most effective mechanisms to instill good values in youths and help them realize their true destiny in this era.

In this trajectory, he exampled that a Pakistan poet from the past, Allama Mohamed Iqbal, had through his poetry and philosophy, inspired millions of Muslims to wake up to the reality of the times and forge their destiny for themselves.

Dr. Ashraf, who also spoke at the ceremony, expressed his wishes to see a day where happiness is attained through poetry.

“It is not a common sight among us; attaining happiness through linguistics. We are receiving punishment from linguistics instead,” he said.

Henceforth, Dr. Ashraf stressed the need for us to become individuals who deliberate and think about linguistics instead of finding punishment in it.

The ceremony saw the poetry from some renowned poets in the Maldives being presented among other literature.
