Maldives sprinter bags first place in Antalya Marathon

Akil Sameer, who is representing the Maldives at the Antalya Marathon has bagged first place from the men's marathon category.

Sameer completed his run in two hours and 20 minutes.

Husana Mohamed won third place from the 45-49 age category, while Mohamed Rasheed won the half marathon event for 30-35 age category.

A total of 13 Maldivian sprinters and runners have taken part in this year's Antalya Marathon in Turkey.

The team undergoes rigorous training before they embark to represent the Maldives on international sporting platforms such as this.
