Male’ area food establishments to be inspected ahead of Ramadan

Health Protection Agency (HPA) states they are prepared to conduct a mass inspection of establishments providing food in Male’ area.

In a statement on Wednesday, HPA said the purpose of the inspection is to encourage such establishments to uphold hygiene standards and provide services to the public in a safe manner.

The agency noted that similar inspections have been conducted by the agency prior to this, adding they usually take place ahead of Ramadan. 

The mass inspection is set to commence on Sunday and is being carried out in collaboration with Male’ City Council, Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Hulhumale’ Hospital and other relevant authorities.
