Unsettled Coloccini to hold talks with Newcastle

NORWICH, England (AP) — Newcastle manager Alan Pardew says captain Fabricio Coloccini will hold a meeting with club officials next week amid reports the Argentina defender could be on his way back to his homeland.

Pardew is hopeful of keeping Coloccini at least until the end of the season, saying "we will speak to him and we will resolve that situation."

British media are reporting that Coloccini, who has been one of Newcastle's best players over the last two seasons, wants a transfer back to the Argentine league for family reasons. San Lorenzo has been linked with the player.

Coloccini showed no sign of his off-the-field issues by playing well in Newcastle's 0-0 draw at Norwich in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Newcastle has already lost leading striker Demba Ba to Chelsea this month.
