Democrats open candidacy for Majlis primaries

The Democrats has opened candidacy for its primaries for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

According to the party, candidacy is open from Thursday until 04:00 pm on February 4.

Democrats previously stated that candidates registered with the party by February 4 and who meet the legal criteria for parliamentarians will be eligible to contest the party’s primaries.

Candidates are also required to submit their criminal and debt clearance form from the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) and criminal record clearance from Maldives Correctional Service along with their candidacy form.

The ruling PPM-PNC and the main opposition MDP are also gearing up for their primaries.
