Farhad Fikry has been appointed as the Acting Commissioner of Police, after Deputy Police Commissioner Abdul Mannan Yoosuf and Deputy Commissioner Ali Rasheed retired this weekend.
Both Mannan and Rasheed retired from police service on Saturday.
Their retirement resulted in no police officials being left in the rank of DCP.
A police spokesperson said that Farhad, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, has therefore been appointed as the Acting CP, in accordance with the Police Act.
DCP Mannan had been serving as the Acting CP since former CP Mohamed Hameed’s retirement earlier this month.
