First couple moves out of official residence, Mulee’aage

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his wife, First Lady Fazna Ahmed have moved out of the official presidential residence, Mulee’aage.

Sun has learned that the first couple relocated to First Lady Fazna’s family home, M. Sunny Inn.

Following his election win in the 2018’s presidential election, the first couple moved into Mulee’aage on November 30^th after President Solih took the oath of office on November 17^th.

Although the first couple has moved out of the residence, President-Elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has his wife Saajidha Mohamed have not yet announced any plans to move into Mulee’aage so far.

Mulee’aage was built during Sultan Mohamed Shamsudden’s sultanate. 

Former president Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom also temporarily resided in Mulee’aage during his presidency, when the construction was underway at Theemuge in 1994 to remodel the former presidential residence to its current version. 

His successor, former president Mohamed Nasheed had resided in Mulee’aage after taking office in 2008, till his resignation in 2012.

On the contrary, President Solih’s predecessor, former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyom had only used Mulee’aage for official purposes. He resided at his private residence during his term.
