Applications open for HRCM membership

Applications for the post of a member of the Human Rights Commission (HRCM) opened on Sunday.

The applications were opened by the President's office after the resignation of Dr. Ahmed Adhuham Abdulla, who had been serving as the vice president of the commission. 

Application forms will be accepted starting from October 15 till October 16, 2023 from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The application form can be downloaded from the President's Office website.

The commission currently consists of President Mariyam Muna, Member Moomina Waheed, Member Aminath Shifaath Abdul Razzaq and Member Samaau Ahmed Najib.

Members Moomina and Shifaath were appointed to the commission on September 8, 2020. President Muna was appointed on November 30 of that year. Member Samaau was appointed to the commission on October 3, 2021.

The term of office for a member of HRCM is five years. Members other than those who are removed from office will be eligible for an additional term of five years.
