LONDON (AP) — Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will miss Sunday's match at Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League because of illness.
Liverpool says Rodgers was sent home from London on doctor's orders "after succumbing to a likely virus that has made it impossible for him to be in close proximity with the players."
Backup goalkeeper Brad Jones and Glen Driscoll, the club's head of performance, have also returned to Liverpool after being taken ill.
Club doctor Zaf Iqbal says "any contact with the rest of the squad could cause the bug to spread to more of the playing staff."
