MTCC awarded Kadhdhoo airport reclamation project for MVR 360M

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) was awarded L. Kadhdhoo Airport land reclamation and shore protection project on Thursday.

The agreement pertaining to the project was signed by CEO Adam Azim on behalf of MTCC and Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq on behalf of the Planning Ministry.

The scope of work under the project valued at MVR 360.90 million includes a sand search survey, 56.40 hectares of reclamation operations, and the construction of a 4,433-meter revetment.

The project was contracted to be completed within 600 days.

MTCC was also contracted ADh. Dhidhdhoo harbor development project on Thursday.

Scope of work under this project includes; 3090 cubic meters of harbor basin dredging operations, 30,070 cubic meters of channel dredging operations, construction of 51-meter breakwater, a 122-meter sand-filled breakwater - outer revetment, a 135m sand-filled breakwater - inner revetment, a 38-meter groyne, a 30-meter quay wall and installation of harbor lights and navigation lights.

The project valued at MVR 21.9 million was contracted to be completed within 330 days.

MTCC states Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will be carried out before commencing both projects.
