President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Wednesday, expressed confidence he can win this year’s presidential election in one round; which he described as a picture now clear to him.
Speaking to the media after a door-to-door campaign in Male’ City – President Solih said the policy he has always maintained is to visit normal citizens to inquire about their needs and fulfill them; one he also followed while campaigning for the 2018’s election.
“The most pertinent need of Male’ natives back then had been housing. From the houses I visited today, I saw hope that the issue will be solved,” he said.
The President, underscoring people still raising the question as to whether Male’ natives will receive land as promised, reiterated all eligible will receive the land.
“By will of God, I will win in one round,” he added.
He detailed that the party’s target this year was to secure the number of votes they secured in 2018.
“What’s next, is working on it. Will have to brief on the work that has been done. There are people who are talking with the purpose of misleading,” he stressed.
President Solih, emphasizing falsities by the opposition is misleading the public, said MDP’s priority for this year’s election will subsequently be clarifying all things that have been done and achieved during this term. If successfully executed, he said this will win him the election through a large majority.
President Solih visited houses in Galolhu district on Wednesday.
