UN Secretary General praises Fenaka's efforts in endeavor to make Maldives carbon-neutral

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres has praised Fenaka Corporation for its efforts in the endeavor to make the Maldives a carbon-neutral nation. 

Fenaka's Managing Director Ahmed Saeed, in a recent visit to the United States as part of a delegate accompanying Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid, called on Secretary-General Guterres at the UN headquarters in New York. 

During the meeting, Saeed briefed Guterres on services provided by Fenaka in its capacity as a utility company and their efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Additionally, Saeed briefed Guterres on efforts by both Fenaka and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration to achieve Maldives' net-zero goal. 

During the meeting, Guterres praised the sustainable efforts of Fenaka to implement the government's net-zero goal in making Maldives a carbon-neutral country.

Saeed, as an accompanying delegate of Foreign Minister Shahid, also called on United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Washington during this visit.
