Vice President Faisal Naseem, on Monday night, noting the high value placed on sustainable development by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration, said is a testament proven true with one look across the Maldivian islands.
Speaking at a special function held at CROSSROADS Maldives on Monday night to mark the 26th anniversary of State Electric Company Limited (STELCO), VP Faisal said President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his administration place a high value on sustainable development and facilitating the services required across atolls through a decentralized system.
VP Faisal, noting STELCO had been an important utility service provider since its establishment, praised the company for transforming the energy services industry while they have also expanded their portfolio to provide sewerage services in islands outside of Male’ region.
He also spoke on the importance of professionalism, genuine friendships, and mutual support in the workplace. In this regard, he stated these traits were essential for delivering essential services to the public. He added that learning and sharing knowledge with coworkers is vital for personal and organizational growth.
VP Faisal also urged unity and solidarity in pursuing national progress, stressing national progress can be achieved if people put aside their differences and work together, despite the country's limited resources.
During last night’s ceremony, VP Faisal presented the Outstanding Service Award to Mohamed Latheef, STELCO's Deputy Managing Director, at the function. The company also presented Long Service Awards in recognition of long-serving employees.
