Police makes two arrests in connection to Naeema’s death

Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has revealed that the police have made two arrests in connection to the brutal murder of the middle-aged woman who was found killed in her home at N. Manadhoo.

Naeema Moosa, 62, Annaarumaage, N. Manadhoo, was found stabbed to death in her bedroom at around 06:30 pm on April 7.

 A street sweeper employed by the local council, Naeema had lived alone. She was reported missing by her family at around 06:13 pm on April 7. She was last seen on April 5.

The police had to break open her bedroom door and found her lying dead on the floor.

The first arrests in the case come more than a month later.

CP Hameed, on Friday, tweeted that two suspects are presently in police custody in connection to the murder.

He also detailed that the police were searching a location presumed to contain important evidence related to the case.

“(I) proudly note the hard work carried out by the police team led by Sub-Inspector Mohamed Samih that traveled to the island and Noonu Atoll Police in order to find the truth behind this murder and ensure justice,” he added.
