JSC probes magistrate accused of calling divorce petitioner

A case has been submitted to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) involving a magistrate accused of calling and harassing a woman who filed a divorce petition with the court.

An official from JSC told Sun the case involves a magistrate from a court in HDh. Atoll.

The case is under investigation by the JSC, said the official.

The magistrate in question had reportedly been the subject of previous investigations by the JSC.

He had previously been investigated for alleged active involvement in running an organization, for allegedly reconciling a marriage after a divorce was granted, and for alleged involvement in protests and social media activism.
