Drugs seized from Maldivian en route to Maldives from Cochin Airport

Amphetamine seized from Maldivian passenger at Cochin Airport.

A large amount of drugs have been seized from a Maldivian en route to Maldives from India’s Cochin Airport.

India media outlets, citing Kerala’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), said the passenger was caught with 33 capsules of Amphetamine. While the drugs weighed 325.5 grams in total, their street value is estimated to be over MVR 700,000.  

The passenger now remains in the custody of India’s Narcotics Control Bureau.
