Truck overturns in dangerous accident at Hulhumale’ Phase II injuring three

A dangerous accident took place near the Industrial Zone in Hulhumale’ Phase II on Friday morning.

Police detailed a report was made to the authority at approximately 7:35am on Friday morning after a concrete mixture truck traveling through Hulhumale’ Phase II’s Industrial Zone overturned.

Two young boys, who were riding on a bicycle nearby, had sustained injuries in the accident, as did the truck driver.

Three of them are being treated in Hulhumale’ Hospital for their injuries. Police said they are investigating the accident further.

Sun’s effort to contact Hulhumale’ Hospital had been unsuccessful. Therewith, the extent of the injuries sustained by the three of them remains unclear at the moment.

Maldives is seeing a hike in dangerous road accidents recently, some resulting in fatalities. Police cite speeding as the most common reason behind these accidents.
