The case of opposition protestors impeding the motorcade of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during a protest calling for the release of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has been presented to the parliament’s security committee (241 committee).

Speaking to Sun regarding this the Chairman of the committee, Hithadhoo MP Mohamed Aslam, the issue was presented after the committee asked for it to be presented.

It is part of the 241 committee’s responsibility to oversee the workings of security forces, to research issues pertaining to the national defence, and to highlight and present to the parliament if there are any necessary changes needed to national defence.
