Nursing moms working at Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) will hereafter be entitled to a two-hour break during working hours in order for them to spend their babies, reported the authority.
The perk was announced during a special meeting held for MMA’s staff on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Wednesday.
Prior to this, nursing moms working at MMA were entitled to a one-hour break.
MMA states that the authority remains steadfast in undertaking various efforts to establish gender equality within the work environment and facilitate a comfortable work environment for women.
The authority emphasized that they have always been exemplary in women empowerment.
In this regard, MMA was the first entity to increase maternity leave for six months.
