He went on to say that they have received information that President Solih’s team will be attempting to influence and change the results of the election.

“First of all looking at how the election committee was put together, it is questionable whether the results will be fair. Other than that also there are many attempts to mess up the outcome. We are being very cautious about this.”

Hassan further said that they gotten information that the opposition teams were working to make arrangements for double voting.

“We got information that the opposition were arranging for people to vote in one center of Male’ and then take the person to their island and vote there as well. Do not even think about it. No need to spend big to hire speedboats and take people to islands for nothing. Will not let that happen.

He noted that Nasheed’s observers will be present everywhere there is a ballot box, and will be closely monitoring the proceedings from the moment voting commences, till it concludes.

In addition to this, Hassan alleged that those employed in various government institutions were being threatened against voting for Nasheed.

Stating that they have not considered a scenario where they lose the election, he said that Nasheed’s team will be doing everything possible to ensure the election is just and fair.
