Man found unconscious in bathroom dies during treatment

The man who was found unconscious in a bathroom inside a home in Maafannu district of Male’ City that was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) with assistance of Maldives Police Service has died during treatment.

A Police Spokesperson told Sun that a report was made to them at approximately 9:14am this morning after a man who entered a bathroom inside a house in Maafannu district failed to respond after a long while. Police said that he was unconscious inside the bathroom when they arrived at the home – following which he was immediately transported to IGMH for treatment.

The man was identified as a 50-year-old Maldivian. Police said that the man passed away shortly before, whilst under treatment.

The Police did not disclose the cause of the man’s death, or why he was unconscious inside the bathroom.

“Police is making further inquiries regarding this case,” the Spokesperson said.
