Brazilian footballer Thiago Silva in the Maldives after World Cup knockout

Captain of the Brazilian national football team, Thiago Silva, is in the Maldives for holidays after Brazil’s knockout from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 during the match against Croatia last Friday.

A reliable source told Sun that Silva arrived in the Maldives with 10 other people, who are all staying at Soneva Jani.

Brazil was knocked out of the World Cup by Croatia in penalties during the quarter-final.

Apart from captaining the Brazilian national football team – Silva also plays as a center-back for the prominent Premier League club Chelsea. This year’s World Cup will mark the last for Silva who has made appearances in 109 matches for the Brazilian national football team and scored seven goals.

Many footballers whose teams have been knocked out from the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar have traveled to the Maldives for holidays.

In this regard, Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez and midfielder Federico Valverde, Belgium’s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Poland’s Robert Lewandowski whose teams were both knocked out in the group stage had also traveled to the Maldives.

Players that did not qualify for the World Cup and are presently on season break due to the World Cup also traveled to Maldives. They include one of best goalkeepers in the world at present, Italy and French club PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma and Algeria and Manchester City’s winger Riyad Mahrez.

 

The arrivals of all the aforementioned football players to the Maldives have been confirmed to Sun by reliable sources.
