Registrations open for MMWM’s Migrant Workers’ Cricket Carnival

Registrations have opened for the annual ‘Migrant Workers’ Cricket Carnival’ organized by Maldives Migrant Workers Maldives (MMWM) in collaboration with Ooredoo Maldives.

It is an event held for the purpose of engaging migrant workers in sports, while using it as a platform to reach a significant migrant population to raise awareness and provide various necessary services.

This year, the carnival will be held on December 2, from 8:00am to 6:00pm. It will be officiated by the Cricket Board of Maldives and its employees.

Similar to last year – this year’s carnival will see stalls providing free medical screening as well as legal aid to migrant workers during the carnival under MMWM’s partnership with local NGOs.

Migrant workers can register for the carnival through MMWM’s social media platforms and their hotline +960 7384994. The deadline for registration is November 29. MMWM states that they are looking forward to having a significant number of migrant workers and their teams with them for this year's cricket carnival, similar to the previous year.

The first ‘Migrant Workers’ Cricket Carnival’ was held last year.

MMWM is an organization advocating the rights of migrant workers. The cricket carnival l is a way of including the migrant community in the anniversary celebrations of MMWM.
