High Court chief judge submits resignation

High Court’s Chief Judge Hathif Hilmy has submitted his resignation on Sunday.

Judicial Service Commission’s (JSC) Secretary General Izmeera Shiham confirmed to Sun that Chief Judge Hathif had requested an honorable resignation, which is currently under process.

Izmeera did not disclose the reason behind Chief Judge Hathif’s decision to resign.

Hathif had served as a Civil Court judge for 10 years. It has been a year since he was appointed to High Court.
