Baiskoafu delays ‘Chanaachaa 2022’ by a day for coinciding with Menk’s lecture

‘Chanaachaa 2022’ – a music show organized by the popular local streaming application, Baiskoafu, has been postponed by a day for coinciding with a religious lecture of renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Menk.

The music festival and Mufti Menk’s lecture were both initially scheduled for Friday, October 28, although at different locations. ‘Chanaachaa 2022’ was to be held at Huhumale’ Synthetic Track, whilst Menk’s lecture was to be held at Alimas Carnival in Male’ City. Another lecture by Menk is also scheduled for October 31, at Hulhumale’ Stadium.

Baiskoafu, on Thursday, underscored that preparations for the music festival have been ongoing for months. They added that the decision to postpone the event was taken upon being made aware of another major event on the same day in Male’ City.

Therewith, ‘Chanachaa 2022’ has been moved to Saturday, October 29, to be held at Huhumale’ Synthetic Track; from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and 8:00pm to 10:00pm.

Entrance for the evening session is free whilst entrance for the night sessions costs MVR 150. Tickets are currently up for sale by Baiskoafu – and can be purchased online.

Artist line-up for the show boasts the Sri Lankan singer who rose to fame with ‘Manike Mage Hithe’, Yohani Diloka de Silva, and renowned local bands and musicians including Equatic Vibe, Traffic Jam. Achecia, Symbolic Records, Detune Band, Fasy Live, and Humble Bakari amongst others.

‘Chanaachaa’ is an annual music show organized by Baiskoafu – to provide a platform for local artists to showcase their music. Baiskoafu said that this year’s show will mark the biggest music festival in the Maldives.
