VP Faisal: Youths’ hard work behind the successes of tourism sector

Vice President Faisal Naseem, on Saturday, remarked that the hard work and dedication of youths employed in the tourism sector is behind the successes of the sector.

He made the remark whilst speaking at the ‘Raa Tourism Expo’ held at Dhuvaafaru. The expo is an initiative of Raa Atoll Council; an event held in line with the celebrations to commemorate the 50^th anniversary of tourism in the Maldives.

In his speech, VP Faisal highlighted the diligence and labor of tourism sector workers over the past 50 years and extended his heartfelt gratitude to them. He thanked the tourism sector staff, particularly the youth, for their invaluable contributions to the development of the sector whilst making extraordinary personal sacrifices – as they continue to work away from their families

VP Faisal also credited the combined efforts of stakeholders for the successes in the tourism sector.

He recalled the obstructions faced by tourism sector stakeholders and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the ceremony, VP Faisal also presented awards to the winners of the handicraft exhibition held as part of the exposition and the recipients of the ‘Atoll Resort Awards’. He was also presented a commemorative plaque of appreciation from the Raa Atoll Council.
