Bank of Maldives (BML) made a donation to the Maldives Deaf Association on Saturday, to support the development of a sign language dictionary.
BML made the donation during a sign language skills session held in partnership with the Deaf Association for the bank’s staff on Saturday morning, to ensure inclusive and accessible services are provided for customers with disabilities.
According to BML, they made the donation to commemorate the International Day of Sign Languages.
The project by Deaf Association to develop its first sign language dictionary is part of the association’s work to empower and promote the rights of the deaf community in Maldives.
Saturday’s sign language skills session for BML’s staff follows a similar one held back in 2020.
