Maldives rolls out fourth Covid shot for people aged 18+

Maldives has begun administering the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine to people aged above 18 years.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced the roll out of the second booster dose in a statement on Thursday.

According to HPA, people aged above 18 years who had their third dose at least four months ago are eligible for the fourth dose.

Maldives is administering the Pfizer vaccine as a fourth dose.

In the greater Male’ area, those who wish to receive the fourth dose will need to book an appointment. And in other islands, vaccine arrangements will be announced by local hospitals and health centers.

Vaccination centers in greater Male’ area:

  • Dharumavantha Hospital: Between 12:00 pm and 02:00 pm (on Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
  • Hulhumale’ Hospital: Between 01:00 pm and 03:00 pm (on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays)
  • Dhamanaveshi: Between 01:00 pm and 03:00 pm (Working days)

People above the age of 12 years who have yet to get the first or second dose can also get vaccinated from the vaccine centers.

HPA advices all who are eligible to get vaccinated, in order to protect themselves and their loved ones.
