Male’ City Council has decided to observe a two-hour vehicle ban on both Saturday and Sunday in conjunction with Eid al-Adha holidays.

The decision to observe the vehicle ban was taken by Male’ City Council, in the 59th official meeting of the fourth session.

The proposal to designate a vehicle-free window for both days was put forth by Council’s Central Galolhu member Reehan Nazim – which was passed by the unanimous votes of all members in attendance.

In this regard, the two-hour vehicle ban on Saturday and Sunday will be between 4:00pm and 6:00pm in the evening.

Vehicles granted special permit will be allowed on roads during these two hours.

Vehicle-free windows have been implemented in Male’ City in conjunction with Eids and other occasions in recent years.

A four-hour vehicle ban was imposed by Male’ City Council for this year’s Eid al-Fitr.
