BJP’s National Spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s remarks regarding Prophet Muhammad had triggered a global outcry.

In a statement released in connection to the matter on Sunday night, AP said that making untrue statements regarding the Prophet’s marriages and slandering his name was an act against the whole Muslim Ummah.

They further stressed that no Muslim would tolerate slander of Islam and Prophet Muhammad who has garnered the hearts of millions of Muslims as well as individuals from other religions in defiance of international treaties executed.

“We remind such persons that there are millions of Muslims in India and across the world who will stand up to defend the Prophet’s identity. Adhaalath Party’s Council of Scholars condemn this lowly act in the strongest words,” the statement read.

BJP is a political party which has previously publicly voiced against Islam as well. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a member of the party.
