One involved in violence on Eid remanded for 15 days

A man arrested in connection to the gang violence that took occurred at the junction of Majeedhee Magu and Janavaree Magu on May 2, as the country celebrated Eid Al-Fitr.

According to the Police - Ahmed Nazih, 27, Kenareege, Ga. Gemanafushi – arrested in connection to the attacks was summoned to the Criminal Court to make a decision on his remand period.

The authority further stated that Nazih was arrested on Tuesday night.

Five arrests have previously been made in connection to this case.

Police are currently seeking four more suspects for investigation:

  • Mausoom Mohamed Didi, 27, K. Male’ Dhafthar no. 2260
  • Ahmed Rabeeu, 24, Gulnooranmaage, GA. Maamendhoo
  • Munad Jaufar, 20, Naadhee, S. Hulhudhoo
  • Ahmed Sathiu, 21, Coral, S. Maradhoo

Police have asked anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the seven suspects to call the police hotline at 3322111 or the Serious and Organized Department directly at 9911099.
