High Court has made the decision to begin livestreaming all open hearings held at the court.
The decision was made with the unanimous consensus of the court’s judges during a meeting of the Council of Judges on Thursday.
High Court had held online hearings when restrictions had been in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. It had livestreamed the hearings via its YouTube channel.
The court had also livestreamed hearings that involved a high level of public interest, such as the appeal over the money laundering conviction against former Maldivian president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
