A mobile application of Maldives Police Service has been launched.
The application was launched by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, at a special ceremony held last night to mark the 89th anniversary of Maldives Police Service.
Through this application, services provided by the police can be browsed; driving license information of the user can be viewed; details of vehicles registered to the user and their annual fee status of them can be viewed and parking and traffic violations committed by the user can also be viewed. Apart from this status updates of cases filed with the police can also be inquired. Complaints regarding police officers may also be submitted through this application.
In addition to this, criminal record of the user can be checked via the application. Police report applications can be submitted and police certification can be verified as well.
The application is designed in manner contact numbers of neighborhood police officers and police stations are viewable for circumstances a user needs to get in contact with the police.
Maldives Police Service underscored that the application will be available for both android and IOS users.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Solih said that Maldives Police Service is slowly being digitalized.
He added the application would further enhance the services provided by the police.
“In provision of services and acquiring services, the world is now dependent on technology. The police application launched tonight is a step forward in this trajectory,” he had said.
