Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 488 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 173,064.
According to HPA, the 488 new cases include; 41 cases from the greater Male’ region, 417 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 21 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 437 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 158,234.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 14,520 active cases.
There are 8 patients in hospitals.
2,119 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 469 samples from the greater Male' region.

Maldives has recorded 297 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country expanded the campaign to begin vaccinating children between 12 years and 17 years of age in August, and began administering booster doses in October.
As of present, 398,275 people have received their first dose and 371,261 people have been fully vaccinated, and 138,373 have received their booster dose.
